The Honda Prologue: A Full Electric Vehicle

The Prologue will be larger than the 2023 Honda CR-V and will have more interior space for passengers and cargo thanks to its longer wheelbase and better packaging. Although Honda Prologue showed some prologue photos, the automaker didn’t share any details of its underpinnings, including its power or range. All-wheel drive will be available, and we expect the Prologue to go 300 miles on a single charge.

e:Architecture Coming in 2026

Although the Prologue is based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV and is built at GM’s Ramos Arizpe, Mexico plant, there will be important differences between the two models. Honda announced that its SUV will have Google’s integrated infotainment system as standard and will support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a big change from the Blazer EV, which will not have CarPlay. In an interview with MotorTrend, Raj Manakkal, assistant vice president of digital services at Honda and Acura, inform that automaker looking for the best user experience, and having CarPlay and Android Auto in its cars is proof of that thinking.
Honda will debut its own electric architecture, called e:Architecture EV, in 2026, but will continue to partner with GM to develop affordable EVs planned for 2027. Honda has not announced which vehicles will be based on its own platform, but the automaker will launch 30 new EVs by 2030 globally.

Platform and Powertrain

Using GM’s Ultium platform, the Honda Prologue will look a lot like the Chevrolet Blazer EV. We expect the Prologue to be available in front, rear, or all-wheel drive. The base Prologue will likely be closely related to the Blazer 1LT, which is front-wheel drive and expected to cover 247 miles. The mid and top trims of the Prologue could be a combination of the 2LT and RS variants of the Blazer. The former allows the buyer to choose between FWD and AWD with a range of up to 293 miles, while the latter can be had in FWD or RWD and offers up to 320 miles per charge.

Will it Support NACS?

Although the Blazer EV has an SS model, we expect the Honda equivalent to be the Acura ZDX Model S, which also shares the Blazer platform. While no power figures have been released, Chevrolet says the Blazer EV SS will be a powerful monster, boasting 557 hp and 648 Nm of torque.

Although Chevrolet recently announced that its EVs will use the NACS connector (also known as the Tesla port) in 2025, Honda has neither confirmed nor denied its strategy In a statement given to Motor Trend, the automaker said that its goal is “to give our customers the best experience of electric cars, and we are exploring all options to ensure a great user experience and access to reliable public charging options as we prepare for the launch of our first volume BEV models.” There could be a scenario while Honda integrates the Tesla connection to get easy access to the Tesla supercharging network.
