During an unplanned Atlanta hearing, Ellis pleaded guilty to one charge of aiding and inciting false testimony, an offense stemming from electoral lies, which Lawyer Jenna Ellis and other Donald Trump lawyers sold to Georgia legislators in December 2020.

She was sentenced to five years in suspended prison and ordered to pay $5,000 in compensation.

Ellis made a tearful statement to the judge on Tuesday, pleasing guilty, denying his involvement in unprecedented D. In short attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.

“If I had then known what I know now, I would have refused to represent Donald Trump in these twinning challenges. I look at this experience with deep pity, – said Ellis, her voice sometimes breaks down.

This development came after successive plea of guilty last week in widespread cases from former Trump campaign lawyers Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, who helped design fake voter plots.

Ellis’ confession came just days after two other defendants, fellow lawyers Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro, pleaded guilty. This means that three high-ranking individuals responsible for the unfounded legal challenges for Democrat Joe Biden’s election victory in 2020 agreed to take responsibility for their roles instead of risking a jury. The lesser-known defendant pleaded guilty last month.

Responding to a journalist’s question shouting in a New York court corridor where a civil case is pending accusing him of overstating his assets, Trump said he knew nothing about Ellis’s settlement, but he called her “unpleasant” and said he wasn’t worried about it.

“Nothing I know, we are completely innocent of everything, it’s political persecution that’s all” – said.

Steve Sadow, Trump’s chief attorney for Georgia, used Ellis’s request to question the legitimacy of the racketeering allegations that Fani Willis, Fani County district attorney for Fulton, filed against all 19 defendants.

“Fans of Willis and her prosecution team dismissed RICO charges in exchange for admitting suspension” – said. “This shows that the so-called RICO case is nothing more than a bargaining chip for DA Willis”.

He also noted that Ellis pleaded guilty to the charge, which was not in the original indictment and does not include Trump.

She was sentenced to five years in prison, $5,000 in reparation, 100 hours of community service, and, writing a letter of apology to the people of Georgia and giving evidence truthfully in the trials surrounding this case.

Early admission of guilt and favorable penalty – in suspension instead of prison – may announce similar results for subsequent defendants, the, who may see the admission of guilt and cooperation as the best hope for leniency. Still, their value as witnesses against Trump is unclear, given that their direct involvement in unfounded intrigues will no doubt expose them to attacks on their credibility and brutal cross-examining, he said, if they testify.

Lawyer Jenna Ellis Tearful apology

The indictment in this wide-ranging case details a number of accusations against Ellis, including that she helped write plans on how to disrupt and delay Congress’ approval of the 2020 election results. January 6, 2021, the day a mob of Trump supporters finally took over the U. S. Capitol.

Ellis is also accused of urging state legislators to illegally appoint a group of presidential electors loyal to Trump during a Pennsylvania hearing, and then she appeared with some of these lawmakers and Trump at a meeting on the subject in the White House. The indictment further says it similarly pressured state legislators to back fake Trump-backing electors in Georgia, as well as in Arizona and Michigan.

Prosecutor Daysha Young said in court Tuesday that Ellis attended a meeting of Georgia state senators in December 2020. With Trump’s lawyer and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Georgia lawyer Ray Smith. Ellis “intentionally helped and incited” the other two when they made false statements to lawmakers, including that of more than 2,500 people convicted of crimes, the report said, more than 66,000 people under the age of 18 and more than 10,000 dead people voted in the 2020 Georgia election.

Before her appeal, Ellis, who lives in Florida, was defiant, writing on X, a social media platform formerly known as Twitter, in August: “Democrats and Fulton County District Attorney criminalize the practice of law. I am determined to trust the Lord”.

But since then, she has been more critical of Trump, saying in September on conservative radio that he will not vote for him again, citing his “nasty, narcissistic inclination to speak, he said, that he never did anything wrong”.

Implicating Giuliani

Along with Giuliani, Ellis has been a leading voice in Trump’s campaign efforts to overturn the 2020 election, often appearing on television and conservative media to tell lies about widespread fraud, which did not take place, and spread disinformation and conspiracy theories.

She was censored in Colorado in March after admitting she had repeatedly made false statements about the 2020 election.

This punishment was partly due to a November 20, 2020 speech in Newsmax, during which she said: “Given all these states (Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia) together, we know, that the election was stolen from President Trump and we can prove it”.

Powell pleaded guilty to six offences and was sentenced to six years in suspended prison and a fine of $6,000. Chesebro confessed to one crime and was ordered to do five years in suspension, pay $5,000 in reparation and do 100 hours of community service. Bailiff Scott Graham Hall pleaded guilty to five counts of wrongdoing and was suspended for five years. All were ordered to write letters of apology to the Georgian people and testify truthfully in any other trial in this case.

Ellis and the other three pleaded guilty under Georgia law. This means that if they end their probationary period without violating the terms or committing another crime, their records will be cleared.

Trump and other defendants, including White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, pleaded not guilty.
