West Nile virus: 12 new cases in the last week – The total number of dead has reached 19

Deaths have reached 19 this year, while cases have reached 143

In the past week, another patient who contracted West Nile virus died, while 12 more people were diagnosed with the disease.

According to the EODY, this year 143 of our fellow citizens have fallen ill in total, with 107 of them showing manifestations of the disease in the central nervous system, with the other 36 having a milder time.

Unfortunately, 19 of them died from the virus, as they presented serious complications in the central nervous system, all of them over the age of 64.
