The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its Aditya-L1 solar mission on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

The mission aims to study the Sun's atmosphere and corona, and to understand the processes that heat the Sun's outer layers.

The Aditya-L1 spacecraft was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. It was carried into orbit by a PSLV-C57 rocket.

The Aditya-L1 spacecraft is about the size of a refrigerator.It will take the spacecraft about four months to travel to the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 1.
